Travel/Public Transportation
Sebastian is six miles east of I-95 (Exit 156), the main north-south freeway on Florida’s east coast. The City itself is situated along C.R. 512 (Sebastian Boulevard) and U.S. Route 1. Unlike many parts of Florida, Indian River County has relatively little traffic and practically no traffic congestion.
Sebastian is an easy commute to the Orlando International Airport. Due to the high degree of tourism at the theme parks in the Orlando area, air travel is relatively inexpensive. The West Palm Beach Airport is about an hour and forty-five minutes south. There is limited air service from the Melbourne Airport, located 30 minutes north of Sebastian. Limo service is available to all airports. The region also has port service in Cape Canaveral.
Sebastian has a FREE public transportation system called “The Go Line”. The bus system links Sebastian with Fellsmere and Vero Beach including both medical facilities and shopping areas. to see the Go Line routes and schedules can be found at http://www.golineirt.com.
There is also available from the Senior Resource Association a door to door transportation service for those who need transport to medical facilities including local hospitals and doctors. Click here for further information and scheduling.
